Starring: Karen Gillan

Directed and Written by: Karen Gillan

Lenght: 9 Minutes.

Genre: Horror/Comedy

CAMERA

In this short there are a limited amout of differnt camera angles; main ones being panning and close ups. These camera angles are all conventional for a horror film as it builds suspense and makes the audience feel uncomfrotable.

SOUND

The short begins with a loud and overpowering soundtrack with the main instrument being a gitar. This is used to start the film as it automatically tells the audience what the genre is and makes them feel uncomfortable from the very start. It then suddenly stops and the hyberbolic sound of hand sanatiser being squerted out of a bottle plays in unisen to the character doing the same action. The short mainly consits of ambient sounds and dialouge which makes the short more sinister and eerie. It also seems like the film is real as everything is quite natural.

MIS-EN-SCENE

The most promanant mis-en-scene element that is present throughout is the characters lips which have been made to look bloated and surgecly enlarged. I believe that this is becuase the character wants to stay relevent and famous so would do anything to be remembered as 'beautiful'. Also to add a little humour to the short and also make it disturbing. Many of the extras in the short are imitating a character mentioned in the short, wearing the same clothes and adopting an aggressive attitude. This not only gives the audience something famliar to hold on to throughout the short but also add a sense of mystery and eerieness.

EDITING

This short contains very little editing only the opening and closing credits and the production logo. This was done to not distract the audience from the story and many scenes didnt need any special effect or clever transitions.
